Teknaf, Bangladesh: The government of Bangladesh is continuously pushing back Rohingya to Burma but the government doesn’t allow the Rohingya to enter the Bangladesh, a Rohingya politician from border said.
“Many Rohingyas have been trying to enter the Bangladesh from Burma and wanting refuges for their safety in Bangladesh because they are being killed, gang raped, gutted their houses and restricted of movement by the Burmese government and Rakhines (Moghs).”
According to various sources, Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) arrested 40 Rohingyas and pushed back to Burma within last two days (Saturday and Sunday).
They were arrested from different entry points of Teknaf border town after being conducted operations by BGB.
One of the relatives of arrestees from Maungdaw south said, “We don’t know their whereabouts .”
He also said that a family of his relative left Arakan State, Burma for Bangladesh two days ago because of security reason which was occurred at Kilai Dong ( Du Chee Ya Tan) village in Maungdaw south.
Besides that, the United States urged Bangladesh to allow Rohingyas if they escape from violence in Burma’s Arakan state. It also asked to permit non-government organizations to provide humanitarian assistance in the refugee camps, but don’t push back Rohingya to Burma. The call was made by visiting US Senior Advisor on Burma Judith Cefkin during meetings with the senior officials of the foreign ministry in the morning of February 2, according to official sources
