Arab News: March 20, 2013 A ceremony to normalize the status of the Burmese community in Saudi Arabia will be held Saturday and be sponsored by Prince Khalid Al Faisal, governor of Makkah. The Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) will hold the ceremony to inaugurate the establishment of the Jeddah Media Center, which is the media arm of the Arakan Rohingya Union (ARU). Abdullah Marouf, head of the International Rohingya Center, said that the ceremony is testimony to the Kingdom’s desire to normalize the status of the Burmese community to allow the people to live in a good environment. “Saudi Arabia works on all levels to help our people achieve their rights in going back to their homeland and regain their national identity and their constitutional rights in Myanmar,” he said.
