The arrested scholars are detained in the head quarter of disbanded Nasaka department situated at Kyee Ken Pyin( Hawarbeel in Rohingylish), Maungdaw Township. Respectively, they were imprisoned for 7 years with hard labor by the Maungdaw District court. The main reason behind such long term jail against them was because they were alleged that they involved in Ducheeratan massacre. According to the statement of a responsible person from Maungdaw District court, the 8 defendants–Shomshu Alam, Zahid Alam, Shomshu Alam, Romali, Mohamed Rafiq, Mustafa Kamal , Kamla Uddin and Robiullah— were interrogated 14 times. Anwar  RvisionTV  May 03, 2014 Sittwe (Akyab), Arakan - A 28-year-old Rohingya woman passed away right after her delivery in Thakkay Pyin (Sakki Fara) IDP Camps in Sittwe (Akyab) around 7:45PM (Myanmar Time) on 2nd May 2014. She apparently died from shock due to heavy loss of blood. There is no medical treatment available for Rohingya people in the camps. “Shabikun Nahar (daughter of) Mohammed (of Age 28) was facing difficulties to deliver her baby. She was laboring and feeling pain. Besides, she was suffering from heavy loss of blood. There are no medical opportunities or access to healthcare for Rohingya people in the camps. The group has been giving health care to both ethnic Rakhine Buddhists and Rohingya Muslims, a stateless minority who live in apartheid-like conditions and who otherwise have little access to healthcare. The internationally acclaimed group has also been providing healthcare in Kachin and Shan states, as well as programs across the country offering antiretroviral treatment to around 30,000 HIV patients. Myanmar's presidential spokesman Ye Htut said that the group's contract in Rakhine state would not be extended because they hired "Bengalis," the term the government uses for Rohingya, and lacked transparency in its work. He criticized the group over its handling of patients following an attack in the remote northern part of the state last month. The government has vehemently denied allegations that a Buddhist mob rampaged through a village, killing women and children. Doctors Without Borders said it treated 22 injured and traumatized Rohingya.
