BGB arrests two Rohingya girls at border

Teknaf, Bangladesh : Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) arrested two Rohingya girls at check -post of Whykong, yesterday at about 10: 30 pm, said a local from Teknaf.“BGB of Whykong check-post arrested them from a bus after checking while they were going to Dhaka from Teknaf.” The arrested girls have been identified as Ms Setara and Ms Anuwara of Arakan State, Burma.

Rakhines round up Rohingyas’ village to attack in Akyab

Akyab, Arakan Stae:  Hundreds of Rakhine mobs with lethal weapons went to the Rohingya villages – Hoshai  Para, Mowlake (Moulobi Para) and Aung Mingala (Handi Hola, Amla Para)  of Akyab-  the only ward, which  is existed in Akyab town  and tried to attack the villagers by  surrounding today at about 1:00pm , according to a villager from the locality.

WFP provide rice, CARE provide fertilizer to villagers at Maungdaw

Maungdaw, Arakan State :  World food Program (WFP) provided rice to the Natala ( Rakhine) villagers and the Co-operative for American Relief Everywhere (CARE) provided fertilizer to the Rohingya villagers of Maungdaw north yesterday, said  a villager  preferring not to be named. “WFP provided 40 bags (per bag 50kg rice) of rice to the Aung Min Gala Natala (Rakhine) village of Maungdaw north under the Maung Nama village tract of Maungdaw Township yesterday.  But, the WFP did not provide rice to the Rohingya villagers.”

Another Term for Thein Sein?

AFP Burma’s President Thein Sein said he may consider serving another term in office if the country and people want him to do so. "If I have my way, I will only serve one term,” said the 67-year-old retired general, who assumed office for a five-year term in March 2011, at a forum in New York on the sidelines of the U.N. General Assembly.

Dipu for holistic solution to Rohingya problem

Foreign Minister Dr Dipu Moni has urged the OIC member states and the General Secretariat to contribute to addressing of the root causes of Rohingya problem. She also called for the rehabilitation of internally displaced Rohingya population and reconciliation between the Muslims and non-Muslim communities in the North Rakhine State of Myanmar.
