Rakhine Extremists Attempt To Torch A Mosque in Northern Maungdaw

Anwar   December 3, 2013 Rvisontv.com Northern Maungdaw, Arakan: These days, some Rakhine extremists are repeatedly attempting to torch the Masjid (Mosque) at the northern hamlet of the village of Kyein-Chaung (Bawli Bazaar), northern Maungdaw. “Around 12:20AM on 28th November 2013, two Rakhine extremists attempted to torch a mosque at the northern hamlet of Kyein-Chaung (Bawli Bazaar). When Rohingyas on sentry duty tried to catch those extremists, they ran away and entered the Rakhine village located nearby the mosque. On the night of 29thNovemeber 2013 as well, a few Rakhine extremists attempted to do the same but they failed due to Rohingyas on sentry duty. Although the local Rohingyas complaint to the adminstrator of the village, U Bone Kan Naing, he ignored the complaint and is not taking any action to prevent such attempts by Rakhines. One refugee killed, one injured in road accident

 Photo  Nayapara Refugee   checkpoint   Teknaf, Bangladesh : An official refugee youth of Nayapara camp was killed and another one injured by a speedy motorbike at Ali Khali (village) under the Teknaf police station on November 26, Anuwar Hussain from the camp said. The dead body was identified as Janal (18), son of Jahid Alam, block-H, Shed # 649/6 and the injured person is Yasin (17), son of Sultan Ahamed, block-H, Shed # 622/1. The victim Janal accompanied by his friend Yasin were going to Nilla from Nayapara camp by a bicycle o November 26 at about 4:00 pm, while a speedy motorbike was coming from Nilla and collided with the bicycle. But, Janal is working at tea shop in Nilla, according to his family. After the incident, the wounded refugees were brought to Nayapara clinic where Janal was dead after half an hour and Yasin was referred to Cox’s Bazar government hospital with serious condition. EU offers aid, condemns conditions in IDP camps
