More harassment by Nasaka in Maungdaw

Hlun Tin's Sentry Post Maungdaw, Arakan State: More Rohingyas have been facing harassment by Burma border security force (Nasaka) in Maungdaw south as the Nasaka has been arresting arbitrarily Rohingya villagers since March 10, said a local elder. Sayed Ullah (35), son of Mohamed Siddique, hailed from Udaung village was killed by Natala villagers in his betel leaves farm on March 1. The betel leaves farm is near the mountain side not far from Natala village. The Natala villagers frequently stole betel leaves from this betel leaves farm earlier. So the owner, Sayedullah asked them (Natala villagers) not to steal betel leaves from his farm. As a result, when the owner went to his betel farm on March 1, he was brutally killed by the Natala villagers. However, the Nasaka did not arrest the main culprits (Natala villagers), but they arrested the innocent Rohingya villagers and extorted money from them. Myanmar dismisses UN call to relocate Rohingyas

Presidential spokesman U Ye Htut has told Australia Network'sNewsline program the shelter at camps holding an estimated 120,000 people is adequate. "I think most of the people are still living in the camp but they have enough shelter and food supply for the rainy season," he said. BGB alerts along the Bangladesh-Burma border

Cox’s Bazar, Bangladesh:  Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) has alerted along the Bangladesh-Burma border for not returning the picked up three Bangladeshi policemen and one civilian since March 13, by Burma border security force (Nasaka), Hossain, a trader from border said. “A group of patrol Nasaka personnel picked up them from the border point of Gumdum last Wednesday at about 5:00 pm when they crossed the Bangladesh-Burma border by mistake.” The Burmese security force neither released the Bangladeshis nor agreed to hold a flag meeting till Friday afternoon but they later agreed to hold the bilateral flag meeting, Bangladesh officials said. The Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) has geared up patrolling along Teknaf to Niakonchari border for the last three days since the abducted policemen and civilians. Misery life of Rohingya in Rathidaung, Arakan

Mayu Press: March 18th, 2013 By Mohamed Farooq This is Rathidaung, one of the seventeen townships in Arakan state, Burma. There are five Rohingya villages in Rathidaung Township; Soe Pyan (Pan Gaing), Kuduk Chaung (Koun Dan), Sera Pyan (Kraru Koun Dan), Pran Haung (Praung Chaung) and Anauk Pyan. On 12th June 2012, Rakhines and Military attacked Kuduk Chaung village, killed two women, looted all the valuable properties; golden ornaments and money, burnt down the entire village having forty-nine houses including one Mosque and driven out all the villagers to Chin Kali Rohingya village. Now they are staying in others houses and no assistance was available since the riot. They have to wrest money to Inn Din and Kyawk Pan Du Border Security Force (Nasaka) camps when they come across to appeal for donation from the other places. Rakhine, Police and Nasaka assaulted Soe Pyan had 297 Rohingya houses on 13 June 2012. During the attack, a woman and two children were killed.

Nasaka arrests 13 villagers from video room

Maungdaw, Arakan State:  Burma’s border security force (Nasaka) arrested 13 villagers on March 15, at about 2:00 pm from a video room – which show movies, sports, news  by taking money from viewer – at Kyauk Hlaga (Darga Para) village, said a local youth who denied to be named.  The victims were identified as—Moulana Moggul Ahmed (35), Dr. Akram (32), and 11 others villagers – not identified, from Kyauk Hlaga (Darga Para) of Maundaw north. The Nasaka took the arrestees to their local out-post camp under Nasaka area number 6, after arrested, according to a relative of a victim. The Maungdaw Township administration officer announced no permission to watch any things in video room during the period of the State High School (SHS) examination on March 12, said a village administration officer from northern side of Maungdaw. “The SHS examination was started on March 13 in Maungdaw.” In Maungdaw Township, only two examination centers at present, Maungdaw town has one and ano
