President U Thein Sein’s Double Standard Operation

OIC was about to come to Myanmar just to help the riot victims from both Rohingya and Rakhine communities in Arkan state. The helpless and hopeless victims from both sides were happy and seeing tomorrows to meet OIC with their inharmonious heart beats as they know that it is a world richest organization and hope that it would be a part of a big role for their uncertain future to be nurtured step by step and day after day. But suddenly, demonstrating (protests) waves hit in Arkan state and swept all the victim’s hopes away shocking the world mankind and human watch groups.

Authority again extends curfew in Maungdaw

Maungdaw, Arakan State: The Maungdaw township high level authority again extended curfew which was end today in Maungdaw, according to an officer from Maungdaw. “Today-December 8- is the last day to withdraw the curfew from Maungdaw, but U Kyi San –the Township administration officer- announced the curfew will continuous without time limited.”

UN calls on Myanmar government to stop blocking aid to displaced

The United Nations has called on Myanmar’s government to stop blocking aid to thousands of displaced people in the country, and once again expressed concern about the living conditions of the Rohingya Muslim minority. On Friday, UN Under-Secretary-General for Humanitarian Affairs and Emergency Relief Coordinator Valerie Amos said almost half a million people are displaced and “in need of assistance” in Myanmar. 

International Buddhist leaders urge Burmese to show compassion for Rohingyas

Seventeen Buddhist leaders from around the world—plus His Excellency the Dalai Lama in absentia—have issued a statement urging Buddhists in Burma to show mutual respect and compassion to Muslims in Rakhine State. The statement comes after many Buddhist monks and abbots led demonstrations and advocated the removal of the Muslim Rohingya community from Burmese soil.
