No security for Rohingya in Maungdaw

Maungdaw, Arakan State: The Burmese authority –Nasaka, Hluntin, police and Army- are arresting, torturing and killing innocent Rohingyas without giving any reason in Maungdaw Township since June 8, said an elder from Maungdaw.

Burmese President cancels to visit Bangladesh

Chittagong, Bangladesh:  Thein Sein, the President of Burma, has cancelled his visit scheduled to Bangladesh on July 15 because of sectarian violence in Arakan State, Burma, an official in Dhaka said. The sectarian violence was occurred between Rakhines and Rohingya Muslim June 8, 2012 which took more lives of Rohingyas and Rakhine and the situation is still unrest.

By ENG Mohammed Siddique Rohingya people are severely suffering from military junta's systematically arranged killing mechanism where Rohingya are now killed not by butchering but in hunger and lack of medicine and shelter. In other words, people are killed not by taking blood but by mental and physical torture blocking all sources of food and medicine as well as not letting access to the available food and medicine. The situation is as if people has to eat each other flesh.

Bangladesh-Myanmar secretary-level meeting underway

A foreign secretarial-level meeting between   Bangladesh   and Myanmar is underway on Sunday with repatriation of Rohingya refugee issue high on the agenda. The foreign office consultation started around 9:30am at the Bangladesh Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
