A recent outbreak of sectarian violence has left the Muslim community in a precarious situation in this predominantly Buddhist state — with the military-backed government failing torecognise the Rohingya as one of the country’s 130 ethnic minorities.

Burma terrorizes the Rohingya

Government troops, ethnic  Rakhine  Buddhists go on a rampage, reports  Asia Sentinel Burmese authorities have resumed a brutal crackdown on  Rohingya  minorities throughout Arakhan province, according to terrified sources in the villages who contacted  Asia Sentinel , saying they are burning homes, beating women and children and  arresting Rohingya  males as the majority ethnic Rakhine go on arampage, destroying and confiscating  property .

The community is described as the world's most persecuted and oppressed; the UN refers to them as the Roma or Palestinians of East Asia. With recent waves of hatred from Burmese bloggers who brand them "dogs, thieves, terrorists" and "black monsters", which is the results of years and years of some of the worst human rights abuses, the Rohingya are a community whose struggles have truly gone unnoticed and uncovered by the mainstream media and international community... until now.
