(PHOTO: Reuters) Irrawaddy News : July 29, 2013 Government security forces have been entering the camps of displaced Rohingya Muslims in Sittwe Township, Arakan State, in order to confiscate laptops and smartphones, The Myanmar Times reports. A Rohingya activist in hiding in Sittwe claimed that more than 80 Muslims had been arrested in the past month for having a computer or smart phone. “I also use a laptop secretly, everybody uses a laptop secretly … in every IDP camp it’s the same thing,” he was quoted as saying. Arakan State spokesperson Win Myaing denied the allegations.
