Recognise Rohingyas as Myanmar citizens

UN under-secretary-general urges Yangon in an interview with The Daily Star                                                                          Valerie Amo By Reaz Ahmad Myanmar should recognise its ethnic minority Rohingyas as citizens, United Nations Under-Secretary-General for Humanitarian Affairs and Emergency Relief Coordinator Valerie Amos has said. "It's a great pity that the Rohingyas are treated as equivalent of football in a field. I am very concerned about the denial of basic rights to the Rohingyas. It's important that Myanmar recognise them. Government of Myanmar should recognise its ethnic minority as citizens," she said in an exclusive interview with The Daily Star at a city hotel yesterday.

Today, on 3rd Nov 2012, a Rohingya bamboo seller, Jani Alom s/o Fetan Ali hailed from Aung Sit Pyin village tract was severely tortured by Nasakas of Chaung War camp in U Kyinn Kya village tract, Maung Daw for not paying the Nasakas illegal demand. According to the Jani Alom’s helper, Jani Alom accopanaied by his daily helper was coming with 2800 pieces of bamboos from Aung Sit Pyin village tract to U Kyinn Kya village tract.

Date: 03/12/12   Ukhiya, Cox's Bazar:  The Police and Boarder Guard Bangladesh (BGB) are finding out and arresting the Rohingya Refugee from every where in Bangladesh and push back as well as assumed extortion money from Rohingya Refugee as well.  According to our source the Police and Boarder Gua rd Bangladesh (BGB) together arrested many Rohingya Refugee from the vehicles near Ukhiya Police Station and extorted money from them who are registered Rohingya Refugee and who are not registered are sent to Ukhiya Police Station for Push back yesterday.
