67 Rohingya Muslims pushed back

Myanmar-Bangladesh border fence New Age Online: June 16, 2013 At least 67 Rohingya Muslims who sneaked into Bangladesh from neighbouring Myanmar were arrested Sunday by the Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) and were pushed back after providing humanitarian supports, our Cox’s Bazar correspondent reported. The Rohingya Muslims, the ethnic minority of Myanmar, were arrested at times from the border points of Teknaf and Naikhyangchari of Cox’s Bazar and Bandarban districts. The 42 BGB Battalion’s Commanding Officer Lieutenant Colonel Zahid Hossain told New Age Online that they had arrested a total of 43 Rohingyas including women and children while trespassing border points at Jaliapara and Dumdomia under Teknaf upazila at about 12:30am. BGB forces boarded them on a boat and sent them back at about 3:30am after giving them some foods and medicines.
