By Ibrahim Shah Burma Times Today( 8th October), it is reported from inside western Burma that on the night of 7th October a team of Border Guard Police of Burma (BGP) raided one Rohingya Islamic school situated at Maung Nama hamlet from Maungdaw district and arrested 8 Islamic scholars. The arrested scholars are detained in the head quarter of disbanded Nasaka department situated at Kyee Ken Pyin( Hawarbeel in Rohingylish), Maungdaw Township. Updated news for those Rohingya detainees who were detained on 26th and 27th September When their families went to BGP camp, they (BGP) responded that they (the detainees) were sent to Maungdaw police station. Most of the Rohingya Muslim detainees have been arbitrarily arrested and in the detention without any charges and prosecutions since the violence in June 2012. “In earlier years, we were to send donated foods and meals twice daily to the Muslim detainees in Maungdaw Police Detention during Muslim Fasting Month Ramadhan. However, on June 30, deputy chief of Maungdaw Police Station, Lieutenant Myint Lwin, said that they won’t allow the detained Rohingya Muslims to receive food from outside in this year’s fasting month. Maungdaw, Arakan State : The concerned authority ordered to destroy a mosque accompanied by 14 other houses in Maungdaw south on May 24, according to our correspondent. On that day, at about 12 noon, U Than Htun, an officer of Maungdaw Township administration office (Mayaka) summoned the Khonza bill village Administration officer— Sayed Alam and other village elders to Aley Than Kyaw police station and ordered to destroy a mosque and 14 houses because of renovation. “The officer also said that the order came from high level office”, said one of the participants on condition of anonymity. Maungdaw, Arakan State: Maungdaw authorities – District and Township administration offices- had imposed the emergency act 144 again for two months on the eve of Muslim Eid festival day, said an elder from Maungdaw. “U Aung Myint Soe, the district administration officer and U Kyi San, the Township administration officer had ordered to Maungdaw public for imposing the emergency act 144 again for two month on August 8, 2013 at about 4:30pm. No one has bothered to ask these children about what they witnessed during last year's massacre of the Rohingya in Burma. No one seems to care what children have to say. Ten or so children sit in a bamboo hut, in what is now a make-shift Rohingya village at the end of a dusty road. The village is nothing but a collection of huts and tents put up in sand. This is not where these children are originally from, they were forced here after they were chased to the water amid sword, spear and gun attacks while their homes in the Kyauk Phyu village were burnt down last year.
