Village admin officer and land survey officer extort money from villagers

Maungdaw, Arakan State: Nwahyon Taung village admin officer –Thein Maung and Ye Maung Thein- a Land survey officer of Maungdaw had been extorting money from villagers since last August with fake promise to register their land, said a member of village admin office. 

The village admin officer –Thein Maung –was recently appointed by authority policy to control Rohingya village with Rkhine community in administration section, the member said.

The village admin officer with land survey officer warned the villagers to change their name from old owner – father who died – or it will seize by authority as the owner wad died, said a villager who gave money to change the name from his late father to his name.

The village admin officer and land survey officer asked to pay kyats 20,000 per acre where they had received 660,000 kyats for 33 acres. But, still, the villagers didn’t received any document which was transfer from the name of his late father to his name,  the villager said.

In maungdaw, now theauthority are not issuing any document of lands to Rohingya, but the Rohingya had old paper which mention the name late love one. But, now there are not officially working on lands property for Rohingya in Maungdaw. It works since last four years, said a politician from Maungdaw.

The Rohingyas villagers are not educated and they don’t know the policy of government on lands. The Rakhine village admin officer and Rakhine land survey officer had given false promise to change lands ownership name from late one to other but asking huge money to change. At last, the villagers lost their money and hope of the ownership lands, said the politician.

The government is seizing the lands of Rohingya and didn’t do any transfer of ownership within official system in Maungdaw, the politician.

Iran Ready to Dispatch Medical Teams to Myanmar

TEHRAN (FNA)- Head of the Basij Organization of Iran's Medical Society Mohammad Rayeeszadeh voiced the society's readiness to dispatch medics, nurses and relief and rescue forces to help Myanmar's Muslims who are under the daily attacks of the majority in the Southeast Asian country. "The Basij (volunteer) organization of the Medical Society is prepared to dispatch emergency teams of physicians, nurses and rescue workers to Myanmar," Rayeeszadeh told FNA on Saturday.

2,600 tonnes of aid delivered to Myanmar Muslims

Khalifa Foundation has distributed urgent aid totalling 5,200 tonnes Gulf News  March 04, 2013  Burma: The Khalifa Bin Zayed Humanitarian Foundation (KZHF) has distributed another 2,600 tonnes of food aid to Myanmar Muslims, completing its third and last phase of the urgent aid totalling 5,200 tonnes of relief items among 850,000 beneficiaries. As per directives of President His Highness Shaikh Khalifa Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, the assistance was purchased from the local markets of Myanmar in cooperation and coordination with the Embassy of Kuwait to be shipped by sea to “Rakhine (Arakan)” for distribution among the affectees there.
