Hluntin harasses villagers in Maungdaw north

Maungdaw, Arakan State: Hluntin from Kyikanpin Headquarters harassed the villagers without finding any fault or crimes or against any activity against the government. Their only crime is, they are Muslims, said a local political leader preferring not to be named.

“On September 21, Hluntin sergeant U Zaw Naing accompanied by three other Hluntins went to Maung Nama south village of Maungdaw north without uniforms and guns in the morning. At that time, one villager named Mohamed Zuhar ,23; son of Habi Ullah was washing some betel leaves nearby a stream. He is a shopkeeper.”

The group of Hluntin approached him, arrested him and severely tortured on the road in front of the villagers without any provoking them. Afterwards, he was brought to the Hluntn headquarters by their motor cycle. However, on the way to headquarters, he ran away from the Hluntin. So, the sergeant asked the Maung Nama village tract second Admin (Village watcher) to send Mohamed Zuhar to the headquarters, the leader more added.

The following day, the Maung Nama village tract second Admin officer (a Rohingya man) accompanied by Mohamed Zuhar went to the Hluntin headquarters and appraised the event of Mohamed Zuhar. The village tract Admin officer U Than Tun ,40; ( Rakhine community) was also present there. He was also ex-Hluntin and he was also an ex-prisoner as he had committed crimes while he was in the service, said a close Hluntin aide.

The Higher officer of Hluntin did not take any action against the Sergeant U Zaw Naing and Mohamed Zuhar was also free from sergeant’s further harassment.

The sergeant U Zaw Naing together with Maung Nama village tract Admin officer U Than Tun have been trying to create problems in the MaungNama village because they want to abolish the said village. As a result, Rohingya villagers are passing their days and nights in panic, according to an elder of village.

“Hluntin and police do not want Rohingyas’ peaceful living, they always wish to create problems among the Rohingya community,” said a local elder preferring not to be named.

Iran Ready to Dispatch Medical Teams to Myanmar

TEHRAN (FNA)- Head of the Basij Organization of Iran's Medical Society Mohammad Rayeeszadeh voiced the society's readiness to dispatch medics, nurses and relief and rescue forces to help Myanmar's Muslims who are under the daily attacks of the majority in the Southeast Asian country. "The Basij (volunteer) organization of the Medical Society is prepared to dispatch emergency teams of physicians, nurses and rescue workers to Myanmar," Rayeeszadeh told FNA on Saturday.

2,600 tonnes of aid delivered to Myanmar Muslims

As per directives of President His Highness Shaikh Khalifa Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, the assistance was purchased from the local markets of Myanmar in cooperation and coordination with the Embassy of Kuwait to be shipped by sea to “Rakhine (Arakan)” for distribution among the affectees there.
