Subject: : A humble request to raise the issue of Rohingya in Myanmar with Hon. Ms Aung San Suu Kyi.

Your Excellency;

We Burmese Rohingya Association in Japan (BRAJ) would like to bring your kind attention that the current situation of entire Muslim population including Rohingya in Myanmar is tremendously endanger of bigger risk of their lives and properties. Japanese government and entire world community is witnessing one-sided Buddhist violence against the Muslim of Myanmar, particularly the Rohingya community in Arakan since June 2012 which is still going on.

Indeed this discrimination on Rohingya and violation of their human rights are not new but continuously going on since 1962 by successive Burmese military regime. It is well documented by United Nation and International human rights body including Human Right Watch and Amnesty International. United Nation Special Rapporteur to Myanmar has been reported to UN general Assembly and human rights council every year regarding Rohingyas’ gross violation of human rights

To end the discrimination and violation of human rights on Rohingya, the most vulnerable people in the country, they have been struggling alongside with Daw Aung San Suu Kyi in the various fields since 1988.

Now, the country’s Military backed civilian regime is relaxing their grips on power and the country is changing towards democracy but it still needed to go furthermore especially ethnic minority areas.

Our national leader Hon. Daw Aung San Suu Kyi is visiting Japan at the invitation of Japanese government as a State guest in the coming days. During her visit, we believe your Excellency would have an Official meeting with our leader. Unfortunately we Rohingyas in Japan would not have a chance to see and give our deepest respect to our leader. We feel deeply sorry for failing to show our respect to our beloving leader.

In this regard we would like request your Excellency to convey our highest respect and best regards and some of our serious concerns as follows:

1. Recognize Rohingya as an ethnic group of Myanmar as former Prime Minister U Nu did.
2. Uphold the Rohingyas’ basic human rights and birth rights.
3. To scrub Myanmar’s Citizenship Law of 1982 and replace it with a new law that conform to International Standard.
4. To play a leading role to end and forthwith all killings, violence and terrorization against the Muslim including Rohingya.
5. To help INGOs and NGOs free access to Rohingya IDP Camps to provide food and medicine.
6. Not to adopt segregation /apartheid policy in Arakan.
7. To facilitate integration of Rakhine and Rohingya communities for the long term and peaceful co-existence.
8. To uphold the rule of law in every corner of the country including Arakan.
9. To withdraw Na-Sa-Ka forces from Rohingya areas.
10. To help the Rohingya IDPs to return their original homes and properties with honor and dignity as early as possible.

Your Faithfully;
Zaw Min Htut
President

It depicts Rohingya tragedy and Human Right Eradication in western Burma. Burma (Myanmar) is a nation with ambition to make their name and discharge their White Man’s Burden, one of the world’s hottest assignments in the world of diplomats, development consultants, NGO experts and academic researchers, a lucrative ‘frontier’ market for investors, venture capitalists and multinationals, a must-go for both citizen-tourists and global luminaries. This lecture will critically discuss the rose-tinted view of reforms in Burma against the troubling realties as lived by the people of that country, including full-scale Rohingya genocide of 40 years, the 60-years of Burmese army’s un-ending internal colonial wars against the Christian Kachins, the Kare...
