Teknaf, Bangladesh: Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) arrested more than 85 Rohingyas and pushed back to Burma within two days, said a local from Burma-Bangladesh border.
“BGB arrested them from different areas of border after being conducted operation.”
Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) sent back 49 Rohingyas to Burma with food after detaining them in Naikhangchari and Teknaf upazilas of Cox’s Bazar for intruding into Bangladesh on January 16, BGB official said.
BGB members held 26 Rohingyas at Bhalukhali, Gumdum and Taungbru on January 16 early morning and sent them back around 2:00 pm.
Another BGB team sent back 23 Rohingyas around 5:00 pm after detaining them in Shahpuri Dip and Teknaf Sadar upazila.
Besides, BGB arrested 36 Rohingyas from different areas of border points of Teknaf and pushed back to Burma on January 15, according to sources.
