CBROC meets with Canadian Foreign Affairs Minister

Kitchener, Ontaria, Canada: The Canadian Burmese Rohingya Organization of Canada (CBROC) members met with Honorable Deepak Obhrai, the Parliamentary Security to the Minister of Foreign Affairs on September 19, at Toronto to draw his urgent attention to what is happening in modern Burma, Nur Hasim, Chairperson, Canadian Burmese Rohingya Organization (CBRO).
The CBROC members met with Honorable Deepak Obhrai, the Parliamentary Security to the Minister of Foreign Affairs
The CBROC expressed the latest riots in Arakan State between Rohingya community and Rakhine community, which backed by security forces. Though Rohingya community has been one-sidedly persecuted by security forces accompanied by local Rakhines since June 3, 2012, the government media announced that only 88 Rohingya people (official figure as of August 22) have been killed, unofficial reports that more than one thousand died and 100,000 Rohingya people were displaced by the Rakhine Buddhist mobs and Burmese security forces. Earlier, the Burmese government distributed relief goods only to Rakhine refugees excluding the Rohingya refugees. As a result, Burmese government is not sincere.  It is totally government sponsored riots.
The members also said that it is important to note that Rohingya people were previously stripped off their Burmese citizenship. As the violence continues, Rohingyas are continually facing atrocities such as judicial killing, rape, arbitrary arrest, extortion and destruction of their homes and belongings. International relief efforts are not being allowed in restrictive areas. As a matter of a planned genocide, Rohingyas are now allowed to starve to death, said Mohamed Ali, the general secretary of CBRO.
Under this emerging grave situation, the CBROC members call upon the Foreign Affairs of Canadian Government to take immediate action against the Burmese Government on the following issues, said Sayed Alam, the finance secretary of CBRO.
CBROC member urged to the Foreign Affairs of Canadian as:- To urge the Burmese government end the atrocities against Rohingya immediately and re-establish peace and harmony between Rakhine Buddhists and Rohingya Muslims; to urge the Burmese government recognize the Rohingya as a native ethnic minority of Burma and restore their citizenship rights; to repeal the 1982 Citizenship Law of Burma enacted by the former military regime of Ne Win; to cease the ethnic cleansing and all the human rights violations  and restore their rights to movement and right to have children and help all the recently displaced Rohingya to return to their respective homes; the CBROC members  also urge the Canadian government to help the international investigation commission investigate the committing of genocidal violence in Arakan State of Burma and in addition to the above, at this critical time of distress for the Rohingya humanity, we want the Canadian government to accelerate its effort to resettle more Rohingya to Canada.
But, Mr. Deepak Obhrai said that he was a member of international election monitoring team from Canada in 2011 by-election in Burma, he also said that his office has seriously engaged in the matter of human rights establishment in Myanmar including Rohingya issues and opened the dialogue with the Bangladesh government to stop human right abuse against Rohingyas in Bangladesh.
Finally, all the members, on behalf of the CBROC, want to thank to the government for opening the diplomatic dialogue with the Government of Burma and Bangladesh to resolve certain long standing problems. We are grateful to the Canadian Government for its support and continued sympathy toward Rohingyas.

It depicts Rohingya tragedy and Human Right Eradication in western Burma. Burma (Myanmar) is a nation with ambition to make their name and discharge their White Man’s Burden, one of the world’s hottest assignments in the world of diplomats, development consultants, NGO experts and academic researchers, a lucrative ‘frontier’ market for investors, venture capitalists and multinationals, a must-go for both citizen-tourists and global luminaries. This lecture will critically discuss the rose-tinted view of reforms in Burma against the troubling realties as lived by the people of that country, including full-scale Rohingya genocide of 40 years, the 60-years of Burmese army’s un-ending internal colonial wars against the Christian Kachins, the Kare...
