The president Hossain Juhar and the Vice president Sayed Amin of the Burmese Rohingya Association in Queensland-Australia (BRAQA) met with Australian foreign minister Hon. Mr Bob Carr at a dinner on August 23, 2012, according to BRAQA president from Australia.
They had a talk with the Foreign Minister on the ethnic cleansing of Rohingya and handed over him a memorandum, prepared on the systematic ethnic cleansing of Rohingya, urging the Minister to make the following demands on the government of Burma.
The BRAQA mention to disarm all the armed Rhakine (Buddhist) groups immediately from Arakan State; to restore citizenship rights to all Rohingyas; to stop supporting programs and massacres against the Rohingya Muslims; to provide immediate shelter, food, medicine and sanitation to all displaced Rohingyas, to provide protection to the Rohingya people and all Rohingya properties, to lift all movement restrictions against Rohongya and allow Rohingya to move freely like all other citizens and to lobby the UN and the international community for immediate on the ground intervention to provide immediate humanitarian assistance to the Rohingya.
