Protest in New Delhi against Rohingya massacre

New Delhi, July 26: Jamaat-e-Islami Hind and numerous socio-political organization on Thursday held a protest sit-in outside Myanmar Embassy here.
 “Rohingya Muslims massacre has no comparison in the recent history but the silence of world community is shocking,” said Shafi Madni, all India Secretary of Jamaat-e-Islami Hind while addressing a protest sit-in outside Myanmar Embassy.

Madni demanded that United Nations should intervene and stop massacre of ethnic minority and also called upon the Myanmar government through its Ambassador at New Delhi to put an immediate end to all kinds of persecution of Rohingya people.
 Madani called upon the Myanmar government to give Rohingya Muslims back their citizenship, stop war mongering and hate campaigns of fanatic Buddhists against Rohingya. “Bring to book all the civilians, police and military personnel involved in criminal activities, allow media and aid agencies full and free access to the affected area and initiate reconciliation process to bring communal harmony,” he added.
 A statement e-mailed to Greater Kashmir said the sit-in protest was organised by by Welfare Party of India and different political parties including Janata Dal United, Lok Jan Shakti Party, Samajwadi Party, CPI, Indian National League and Students Islamic Organisation of India (SIO) representatives addressed the protesters.
 The speakers expressed serious apprehensions that Rohingya is one of the most persecuted ethnic minorities in the world and that Rohingya massacre is not new to the history. 
 The speakers criticised the shocking silence of Suu Kyi (winner of Nobel Peace Prize and leader of opposition in Myanmar), Dalai Lama and world leaders on the plight of Rohingya Muslims.

Iran Ready to Dispatch Medical Teams to Myanmar

TEHRAN (FNA)- Head of the Basij Organization of Iran's Medical Society Mohammad Rayeeszadeh voiced the society's readiness to dispatch medics, nurses and relief and rescue forces to help Myanmar's Muslims who are under the daily attacks of the majority in the Southeast Asian country. "The Basij (volunteer) organization of the Medical Society is prepared to dispatch emergency teams of physicians, nurses and rescue workers to Myanmar," Rayeeszadeh told FNA on Saturday.

2,600 tonnes of aid delivered to Myanmar Muslims

Khalifa Foundation has distributed urgent aid totalling 5,200 tonnes Gulf News  March 04, 2013  Burma: The Khalifa Bin Zayed Humanitarian Foundation (KZHF) has distributed another 2,600 tonnes of food aid to Myanmar Muslims, completing its third and last phase of the urgent aid totalling 5,200 tonnes of relief items among 850,000 beneficiaries. As per directives of President His Highness Shaikh Khalifa Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, the assistance was purchased from the local markets of Myanmar in cooperation and coordination with the Embassy of Kuwait to be shipped by sea to “Rakhine (Arakan)” for distribution among the affectees there.
