MRA sedia bantu Rohingya

KUALA LUMPUR 21 Julai - Malaysian Relief Agency (MRA) bersedia memberikan bantuan kepada masyarakat Islam Rohingya di Arakan, Myanmar yang kini tertindas.
Setiausaha Agungnya, Dr. Mohd. Daud Sulaiman berkata, MRA akan menghantar dua pegawainya ke Myanmar pada minggu pertama Ramadan ini bagi tujuan tersebut.
Tambahnya, MRA telah mengenal pasti pertubuhan bukan kerajaan (NGO) di sana yang akan membantu dalam misi kemanusiaan itu.
"Kami telah mengenal pasti keperluan asas seperti makanan dan minuman selain perubatan yang amat diperlukan masyarakat Islam Rohingya di sana untuk disalurkan lebih-lebih lagi menjelang Ramadan ini," katanya.
Beliau berkata demikian ketika ditemui pada majlis meraikan anak-anak yatim dari Padang, Indonesia, lima doktor dari Gaza, Palestin, wakil Al-Khidmat Pakistan dan wakil komuniti Rohingya sempena kedatangan Ramadan di kediaman beliau di sini.
Menurut Mohd. Daud, misi itu bukan sahaja bertujuan memberikan bantuan di perlukan kepada masyarakat di sana tetapi bagi memperoleh maklumat sebenar keadaan krisis di Arakan.
"Maklumat yang diperoleh ketika ini amat terhad dan diharapkan pegawai kami nanti akan membawa pulang bersama segala maklumat yang sangat penting bagi misi seterusnya ke Myanmar selepas ini," jelasnya.
Pada masa sama, beliau menyeru orang ramai dan badan korporat menghulurkan bantuan menerusi MRA bagi bersama-sama meringankan beban masyarakat Islam Rohingya.

Iran Ready to Dispatch Medical Teams to Myanmar

TEHRAN (FNA)- Head of the Basij Organization of Iran's Medical Society Mohammad Rayeeszadeh voiced the society's readiness to dispatch medics, nurses and relief and rescue forces to help Myanmar's Muslims who are under the daily attacks of the majority in the Southeast Asian country. "The Basij (volunteer) organization of the Medical Society is prepared to dispatch emergency teams of physicians, nurses and rescue workers to Myanmar," Rayeeszadeh told FNA on Saturday.

2,600 tonnes of aid delivered to Myanmar Muslims

Khalifa Foundation has distributed urgent aid totalling 5,200 tonnes Gulf News  March 04, 2013  Burma: The Khalifa Bin Zayed Humanitarian Foundation (KZHF) has distributed another 2,600 tonnes of food aid to Myanmar Muslims, completing its third and last phase of the urgent aid totalling 5,200 tonnes of relief items among 850,000 beneficiaries. As per directives of President His Highness Shaikh Khalifa Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, the assistance was purchased from the local markets of Myanmar in cooperation and coordination with the Embassy of Kuwait to be shipped by sea to “Rakhine (Arakan)” for distribution among the affectees there.
