President of Burmese Rohingya Organization UK, Tun Khin has spoken to Anadolu Agency
LONDON (AA) - July 19, 2012 - President of Burmese Rohingya Organization UK (BROUK), Tun Khin, has said that international community should take immediate action on situation of Muslim people in Arakan, Burma.
Speaking to Anadolu Agency (AA) correspondent on Thursday, Khin said that a pressure should be applied onto the regime in Myanmar.
Trying to draw international community's attention to the difficulties experienced by Muslims in Arakan, Khin stated that more than a thousand people were reported missing.
"Everyday a number of people are dying. International community and Islamic countries should take immediate action," said Khin.
Stating that the attacks on Muslims were not a sectarian issue, Khin claimed that the regime in the country had prepared a plan to murder Muslims in advance.
"They set our village on fire and they are shooting people who want to save their lives from the fire. They are also burning the bodies. The situation is extremely dreadful," said Khin.
Khin expressed that there was a need for water and foodstuffs in the region.
Tun Khin also stated that Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan's comments to draw more attention on the issue was very pleasing.
"Condemning the attacks is not sufficient, everyday people are losing their lives there. An immediate action should be taken," said Khin.
Despite his ancestors were Burmese, Khin said that he was not a citizen of Myanmar.
