Priority task of government is to satisfy desire, fulfill requirements of people Work coordination meeting on more effectively carrying out national and regional development tasks concludes

PYI TAW, 12 May -President of the Republic of the Union of Myanmar U
Thein Sein delivered a concluding address at the work coordination
meeting on more effectively carrying out the national and regional
development tasks held at the President Office here at 9 am today.
It was attended by Vice-President Dr Sai Mauk Kham, union ministers, region and state chiefministers and chairmen and officials of the self-administered division and zones.
Participants
of the meeting discussed reform process sector-wise during the
meeting.
In
his concluding address, the President said being elected by the
people, the government is to make efforts for satisfying the desire
and fulfilling requirements of the people, considering the task is
its priority.
The
government has been making endeavors to ensure prevalence of peace
and stability in the country and to promote the socio-economy of the
people which are desired by the people, he added.
For
the peace and stability of the country, the government has been
working hard to achieve political stability while taking steps to
make peace with ethnic armed groups after laying down policies.
He
also stressed the need to step up efforts for promoting the
agricultural sector for the food sufficiency in the future as part of
efforts for promoting the socio economy and for building an
industrial country to bring prosperity to the people.
A
lot of Myanmar people are working in foreign countries as migrant
workers due to job shortages in the country, causing loss to the
country, he said.
Therefore,
it is needed to establish industrial zones, plants and factories by
inviting foreign investors in the country as part of efforts for
creating job opportunities so that Myanmar migrant workers in foreign
countries can get jobs at home and to make efforts for producing
value-added products to export to foreign countries, he added.
He
also called on region and state governments and chairmen of
selfadministered division and zones for putting relentless efforts in
taking steps to make peace with ethnic armed groups as prevalence of
the peace and stability of the country is sine qua non for promoting
the socioeconomy of the people.
He
also urged them to encourage and provide assistance within the
framework of law to the ethnic armed groups who are holding peace
talks with the government with the aim of reaching agreement for
ceasefire for ever and achieving the eternal peace.
He
called on them to make efforts for understanding among the armed
groups about the genuine goodwill of the government which has been
striving to achieve the eternal peace.
The
