Cox’s Bazar , Bangladesh : Nine Rohingya people have been detained in Sakaria police station under Cox’s Bazar district, Bangladesh since March 17 for further investigation and has filed case against them accusing them with border cross, according to police official.
They were arrested by police of Sakaria on March 17, from Bodor Khali village in the early morning while they were working in the field as they are living and working in the area without holding any document.
The operation was led by Sub-Inspector Mohamed Shohel Ahamed and Assistant sub-inspector Whidu of Sakaria police station.
The arrestees have been identified as Ziabul (18), Md. Alam (19), Yousuf (18), Monjur Alam (20), Munna (40), Abdu Sukkur (20), Md. Jubair (18), Taher (20) and Ahamed Hussain (52), hailed from Arakan State , Burma ,
Most of the youths crossed the Burma – Bangladesh border and works in Bangladesh side to support their family members as they can’t able to work there for restrictions which imposed on them(Rohingya) by Burmese government.
Besides, they have to pay forced labor for army and Nasaka camps accompanied by harassment, said Karim, who was arrested by police.
