By  Steve Gumaer Junuary 29, 2014 Partners Relief & Development  has a team member in Bangladesh right now who is meeting victims of the recent violence against Rohingya people in West Burma. Today he met Aisha,a survivor from yet another destroyed village. This posting describes how his village was attacked and burned down, and how members of his village were killed or taken away, including his two year old daughter. Aisha heard the military vehicles and then saw large army trucks full of soldiers and extremists who were armed with guns and clubs. They drove into Killadong Majarpara, his village in West Burma and home to 2,500 other  Rohingya  Muslims.  It was 11:00 pm on the 22nd of January. Knowing the  multiple and brutal attacks  so far, he quickly found his way out of the village to look for a safe place to hide. Anwar 29 th  January 2014 | Maungdaw, Arakan Rvisiontv.com Around 8:30PM yesterday (i.e. on 28 th  January 2014), Rohingya homes at the west-hamlet of the violence-hit village, Duchiradan (Kilaidaung), southern Maungdaw, were set ablaze. Consequently, 17 Rohingya homes burnt into ashes. Initially, locals were unsure of how the fire started. Now, they have confirmed that it was a conspiracy by Maungdaw Police and Hlun Hteins (Security Force) and possibly by the instruction of higher officials from the central government of Myanmar like U Ye Htut. The fire caught Rohingya houses at around 9PM on 28 th  January 2014 (Myanmar Standard Time-MST).How the fire started in the village is unknown yet. Neither Rohingya from any other village is allowed to go the village nor many locals of the village live there because of the fear of becoming the victims of violence again. Those who were living in the village are believed to have fled to their nearby village as soon as the fire started. A local from a nearby villages said “we believe the fire that started in the village around 9PM has razed 7-8 houses till now (Speaking at the time, 9:30PM). They mutiliated and killed around 50 innocent people. They raped women/girls. Rohingyas’ homes were destroyed and their properties were looted by Rakhine extremists.
