"The violence and oppression inflicted on the Muslim Rohingya community in Rakhine is visibly cruel and sad. Even as the Muslim world celebrates Syawal with joy, the Rohingya's are left with little, while living in fear," he said in a statement here today.
Badrul Hisham said the United Nations should also act early and quickly in ensuring safety and security in Rakhine.
The MBS also urged that humanitarian assistance such as food, shelter and medical aid, be rendered quickly to the Rohingyas. -- BERNAMA
