UN humanitarian chief calls for probe into latest violence in Myanmar’s Rakhine state

Authority remove security forces and Rakhine from Kila Dong before inquiry commission visit

Maungdaw, Arakan State: Maungdaw high level authority –  U Aung Myint Soe, district administration officer, U kyi san, Township administration officer, Lt.Col. Burma mobs 'kill 30 Rohingyas'

The attacks were said to have taken place near the town of Maungdaw BBC News January 23, 2014 More than 30 Rohingya Muslims were killed in attacks by Buddhists last week in Burma's Rakhine state, the BBC has been told. Two international aid officials who were granted access to the area in the far west of the country said they had found evidence of a mass killing. Human rights group Fortify Rights claims a series of attacks took place over five days last week. The government and local officials have strongly denied claims of a massacre. Revenge attacks The latest development follows reports of clashes between Rohingyas and the police in the Maungdaw township over the past month. High level delegation visits Gudusara village, Maungdaw south

Meeting in  Gudusara   school  By KPN News Junuary, 22, 2014  Maungdaw, Arakan State: A high level delegation led by Arakan State Chief Minister U Hla Maung Tin went to Gudusara village nearby Kilai Dong village today and held a meeting in school of Gudusara with inviting Rohingya villagers including women who fled from Kilai Dong village and neighbors, said a villager who participate in the meeting.  The members of the delegation went to village at about  2: 00 pm with 12 cars from Maungdaw Town.  After arrival, they held a meeting inviting Rohingya men and women from nearby villages and especially women from Kilai Dong village. Eyewitnesses reported to the human rights organization about an incident during which 60 Rohingya were killed when Burmese security forces and Buddhist extremists attacked the village of Du Chee Yar Tan in Maungdaw district (Arakan State) on January 14, 2014.
