The conflict pitting ethnic Rakhine Buddhists against stateless Rohingya Muslims in coastal Rakhine state marks some of the worst sectarian unrest recorded in Burma in years. President Thein Sein has declared an emergency in Rakhine state and warned that the spiraling violence could threaten the democratic reforms tentatively transforming the country after half a century of military rule.

Rohingya Muslims from  Myanmar  living in refugee camps in  Bangladesh  called on Wednesday for democracy champion  Aung San Suu Kyi  to speak up for them and help end their persecution.

Maungdaw Arakan State :    In Arakan State, killing continue, especially Maungdaw and Buthidaung townships after State of Emergency declared by President Thein Sein, said an elder from Arakan who didn’t mention his name.

Around ten boats were arrived and stranded in Naf River where the Rohingyas have no foods and no water. Some Rohingya women and children need medical assistant. One pregnant was died while she delivering.  Three children also died on the boat.

New York, June 12 (ANI): Human Rights Watch (HRW) has called on the Government of Burma to take all necessary steps to protect communities at risk in Arakan State after violence between Buddhists and Muslims in western Burma left an unknown number dead.
